I plan to use this whistling foxes with Hornet level loads in the 222 and No4 shot in the tube. The slugs print about 4" high and 3" to the right at 50yards, haven't tried shot loads yet. I think it will be alright hunting, but it is pretty heavy on the bench. I am really happy with it apart from the heavy trigger.
Great buy (gotta get a win every now and then).
I picked up a Deluxe 222/20Ga in excellent condition (looks like new, my mate put a hundred or so 222s and 50 or so shotshells and slugs through it, I think it was new prior to that) with a new looking 2-7 VariX11 Leupold on it for $450 along with a hundred and fifty odd Winchester Slug loads and a box of No4s and a box of No6.
